Lynn Compton announces 2018 re-election campaign

NIPOMO, CA – San Luis Obispo County 4th District Supervisor Lynn Compton announced her plans to run for a second term today.

Since her election in 2014, Compton has been a tireless advocate for families and taxpayers in the 4th District and throughout the County.

“We need government to work for the people and implement policies that help create jobs and open opportunities for our families to thrive,” stated Compton. “While we’ve made progress over the past 3 years there is still more to be done, and I am excited about continuing to work with my fellow Supervisors to improve the quality of life for the people of San Luis Obispo County’s 4th District.”

As County Supervisor, Compton has:

  • Worked to restore park and recreation funding for South County
  • Fought to preserve Proposition 13 taxpayer protections
  • Supported the formation of a countywide Tourism Marketing District
  • Supported capital projects including the construction of a new regional airport terminal and a new shelter for abandoned and abused animals
  • Brokered an agreement to address South County residents’ public safety concerns by relocating a Sheriff’s substation

In 2016, Compton opposed the largest proposed tax increase in County history. She has also made thoughtful decisions on several land use projects to balance economic development with sustainable water and resource management.

“Lynn Compton can be absolutely trusted to fight for taxpayers, and she’s exactly the type of courageous leader we need on the Board of Supervisors,” said Andrea Seastrand, former Congresswoman and President of the Central Coast Taxpayers Association. “I’ve worked with Lynn for years. You’d be hard pressed to find a more honest, hardworking and dedicated public servant who is committed to making government work for the people. Many in California are attempting to erode Proposition 13 and all the taxpayer protections it affords, only to go on wasteful spending sprees with our hard-earned money. We’re fortunate to have taxpayer advocates like Lynn in our corner.”
